Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany

Neuschwanstein Castle, located in Bavaria (Germany), is one of the most famous and beautiful castles in the world and attracts millions of tourists annually due to its fairytale appearance and captivating history. The castle was built in the second half of the 19th century at the command of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, who aimed to create a place that would symbolize the ideals of the medieval knightly era and German culture.
Construction of the castle began in 1869, and although it was intended as a private residence for Ludwig II, the castle was never completed. After the king’s death in 1886, the construction was halted, but even unfinished, the castle remains one of the most famous tourist destinations in Germany.
Neuschwanstein Castle combines elements of Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles, making it unique among medieval structures. Its towers, walls, and windows look straight out of a fairy tale, and its location on a high mountain adds to its mystery and grandeur.
This castle became the inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, which further increased its popularity. Every year, millions of tourists from around the world visit Neuschwanstein to admire its incredible architecture and the picturesque views that surround it.
Neuschwanstein Castle can be reached from Munich or other major cities in Germany. The most convenient way is by train to the town of Füssen, from where tourists can take buses or walk to the castle.
